Bodai Sancha is a post-fermented tea produced by the lactic acid fermentation of tea leaves from Toyosawa, Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture (commonly known as the Bodai District), using natural lactic acid bacteria. The Sanin Sancha denotes acid,’ reflecting the tea’s acidic nature. This tea’s lactic acid fermentation process traces its origins back to the ‘Bamboo Tube Sour Teafrom Yunnan Province in China. The term ‘Sanchain Bodai Sancha combines the regional name with the sour profile characteristic of this tea. The tea leaves have a black appearance, and the brew is a pale yellow, distinguished by its refreshing citrus aroma and a notable sourness from the lactic acid fermentation.

Nagamine Tea Corp., founded in 1876 (Meiji 9), is a tea wholesaler with a history spanning over 140 years. Based in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, we blend traditional methods with the latest technology to produce high-quality Japanese tea. We have also been working on the development of lactic acid-fermented tea based on traditional methods.

Hainan Agricultural Cooperatives (JA Hainan)

JA HAINAN was established in 1993 by three agricultural cooperatives (Minami -Haibara Agricultural Cooperatives, Haibara Agricultural Cooperatives, Hinan-Yoshida Agricultural Cooperatives) in the southern part of Haibara -gun. Through fresh and safe food production, we are working to become a company that contributes to the realization of a healthy and rich life.

The Kawane factory is one of the largest Matcha factories in Japan, and the first in the country to offer a one-stop service for the export of organic Matcha under international quality control standards. We aim to build a competitive production system in a wide area centered on Kawane Town, Shimada City, and Fujieda City to meet the large-scale demand for organically grown tea in Japan and overseas.

Shizuoka Organic Matcha

SOMA was founded as a joint venture between two tea traders working to increase tea exports and multilple farmer organizations working to produce organically grown tea. Our aim is to establish a global production area for green tea focused on organic matcha.
Most of the matcha that is in high demand worldwide is cultivated by conventional cultivation (* cultivation using pesticides) and is not suitable for export.
